Son, we live in a world that has corruption, and that corruption needs to be guarded by men who lie. Who's gonna do it? You? You Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you can imagine. You weep for the truth, and curse politicians. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That truth's death, while tragic, probably saves my career. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, probably saves careers. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me to lie, you need me to lie. We use words like corruption, lies, profit. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending our careers. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very corruption that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you cough up money, and fund my campaign. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

"Did you lie to the people?!?"

... I can't recall.

"How about corruption?"

"Yeah, I'm ok with corruption, as long as it's my guy benefiting." Really guys?

Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year's election, according to people familiar with the matter. CNN learned of the subpoenas hours before President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.

The subpoenas represent the first sign of a significant escalation of activity in the FBI's broader investigation begun last July into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russia.
See here

So the rumour that there was/were a grand jury on this thing was true.

I remember someone here few days ago triumphantly declaring that Flynn was off the hook, case closed (or something like that).

And lets just remember this:
The Flynn inquiry is one piece of the broader investigation, which FBI Director James Comey testified in a Senate hearing last week is led jointly by the Alexandria US Attorney's Office and the Justice Department's National Security Division.
So if we do want to talk about corruption, how about a guy that firms have gone bankrupt and cannot get loans from the US finance sector turns to get credit and venture money from abroad from a country where all the serious business dealings and investors are directly linked to the state and it's leader. And this state does what it allways has done, uses business to basically get political influence, to make the business partner also to further the state's agenda. Corruption is their middle name.

And then the guy most likely because of his utter ignorancy or simple stupidity thinks that he could use the relationship with this foreign country to improve his chances in his political campaign, that it would be a win-win situation for him. He could get secretly support and then he could have crowning moment in foreign relations when the relations with that country will be improved. Or so the guy thought.

Because perhaps only afterward the guy understood that how much push the agenda of Wall Street banks and big corporations as all other politicians do, that is a different thing to having a relationship with a country seen as hostile to the US that the government institutions like the FBI, has as it's mission to counter exactly this kind of activity the guy has had.

So the guy can now fire the FBI director for doing his job.

But this thing won't go away.

And you all in your hatred about the democrats and Hillary can stay in fantasy world that this all is somehow a total fabrication, made by remnants of the hated Obama administration or some whacky conspiracy theory of the establishment being against the guy for some reason, which I have no clue of (when looking at his actual policies).

Nuke,

It's still a long way for impeachment.

Trump can allways claim ignorance or not knowing what people have done.

Many might believe that, actually.

The bad thing here is that actually Trump has gotten a good security team to him (after firing Flynn). And his foreign policy, actual foreign policy, is OK. Of course for me the US foreign policy is important. For you it might be the health care reform debacle or something else (like having GOP president who is totally in favour of gun ownership).

You're talking about Hillary right? And the "pay for play" donations to the Clinton "global initiative" by the Saudi's, UAE, etc, for what could become lucrative support and weapons deals?
