The man believes in America and American values. He's a religious man. He took heat as a city councilman for not being able to deliver to his constituents. When two security guards were beaten nearly to death in a well known drug lot owned by gangsters in his neighborhood he pitched a tent in the middle of that danger zone a pulled a ten day hunger strike until the mayor was forced to respond.

Show me Obama, Trump, GWB, or any other politician you like putting it all on the line like that.

I'd think you'd respect the guy, even if he's a (D) and not an (R), simply because of your shared beliefs and out of respect for the dedication he has to getting things done. Deeds, not words - as they say.
has he done anything risky after he became big time?

All that vanished when the media furor and photo ops declined.

So Cory Booker took his job in 2006.

Boom.
And the city of Newark was forever transformed.

Listen its a great biography but it has a familiar ring "community organizer" ring to it and the progs/bernie bros hate him. He was called Republican, a jew, and KKK all in one breath when he threatened their power.

Uh huh, sounds a little like Sarah Palin but when the spotlight was on, it just wasnt the same. Cory Booket had the spotlight during the Sessions hearings and he flopped. He is a big Goldman Sachs and other investment bank client. He brings in the dough, progs hate that, he is for TPP and other trade deals, progs hate that, he is a big supporter of Israel, progs hate that. His time came and went. He missed it, now he can have that Senate seat till he dies, but unless you ever vote in Democratic primaries, you aint ever going to get the opportunity to vote for him.

No and that is not his fault either, he is protected by the Capitol police it would just be a farce, same when he was Mayor he didnt do that shit like that because then he would just have to shell out overtime to Newark cops that the city cant afford. He was a political youngster and renegade who did something while brave was ill advised and dangerous and it payed off. But since Trek wants to play story time why doesnt he tell me about the guy who survived a fire on an aircraft carrier only a year later to be shot down and captured by the North Vietnamese and been a POW for 6 years. He was every Democrats favorite Republican. Let Trek tell you how that guy won the Presidency and he was happy to vote for him. Actions speaking louder than words and all that jazz.

I voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries.
Pack that in your grumpy pipe and puff on it, jaded dwarf.

Not good enough, he needed you in 08. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. You got on Bernies case when he kowed to BLM but you want the guy that helps pay them off.

Michigan, which he won.
You ever help McCain win jack?
Nope.

Guess you should change your handle to clubINEFFECTIVE.

Newark hates Booker because "He never gave nobody no jobs”, and he cut over 1000 municipal government jobs. That's because (according to his chief of staff) "The idea is not to have city jobs, it’s to expand the universe of possible employment opportunities.”

Why do you hate him?

I was thinking about political risk in terms of voting or supporting a cause.
