Re: The Chapel
God is walking down the street carrying a box. He comes upon the Devil and the Devil asks "Hey God, whacha got there?" God replies "It's a box of all the world's religions". The Devil responds "would you like me to organize those for you?"

Re: The Chapel
Saying that you worship Odin is like a Christian saying they worship Santa Claus, Odin in of himself, is not actually the supreme being in the universe, the Pagan Gods were more like Superheroes/Supervillains than they were Cosmic Prime Movers.
It's like how Americans have come to "worship" Superman and Batman.

Well, I don't yet know the ins-and-outs... we try not to get too interested too early, because, in the last 18 months he's been through four religions. He calls the current religion Odinism and he got a Thor's hammer charm for his birthday. I actually hope this one sticks - it seems good for him; he's definitely calmer now. He could just be growing up, too,.Smitty-48 wrote:Saying that you worship Odin is like a Christian saying they worship Santa Claus, Odin in of himself, is not actually the supreme being in the universe, the Pagan Gods were more like Superheroes/Supervillains than they were Cosmic Prime Movers.

It's more about reappropriating European culture but it's pretty LARPy. Best to just stick to Christianity for your cultural heritage.Smitty-48 wrote:Saying that you worship Odin is like a Christian saying they worship Santa Claus, Odin in of himself, is not actually the supreme being in the universe, the Pagan Gods were more like Superheroes/Supervillains than they were Cosmic Prime Movers.

Sounds like your stepson is getting into the heathen community. They are kind of like a cross between bikers and Germanic pagans. They reject civilization as we know it and instead embrace tribalism while trying to recover the old ways.
