Re: North Korea News
Bear in mind, there is room for diplomacy, particularly with the Russians, North Korea tho, don't kid yourselves.
Thing is, what these liberals in Washington call "diplomacy", is not diplomacy at all, it's grand standing and virtue signalling and telling everbody what they gotta do, no quid pro quo.
If I was running things, yes, I would have to go Wyatt Earp about it where the rule of law had completely broken down to Redwings over the CONUS, but that doesn't mean it's all stick and no carrot, deals can be made, if you're actually prepared to get down off your moralizing high horse, and haggle with some quid pro quo.
You can do business with the Kremlin, but you actually have to give them something in return for something, it can't be all take and no give, that ain't diplomacy, that's just pushing them backs up against the wall, slowly but surely.
You give me some breathing room with the Redwings in North Korea, Mr. Ivan, we can do things for you, and it's not like this cult in Pyongyang is actually good for you, and China is not your buddy too.

You're just projecting your disgruntled resentment towards America unto the rest of the world, who aren't nearly as anti-American as the anti-American Americans, who knew? Nobody bashes America harder, than the disgruntled and resentful of America Americans, and I'm sure the International lefties would tee off on America too, but what else is knew?GrumpyCatFace wrote:The "Spooking" of a pre-emptive nuclear strike would go miles beyond Russia and China. Sure, disgruntled and resentful lefties and lolbergs, a noisy minority which gets a lot of attention from the press, clickbait, but the Silent Majority, is not with them, neither at home, nor abroad.

I don't think they would get involved if we carry out very limited air and naval strikes to destroy the NK nuclear weapons program. We might be able to get away with some special forces landing there, but I wouldn't risk it unless it's critical.
Where shit gets ugly is if North Korea launches a wildly successful attack on CONUS (like most of us get knocked out by an EMP, which I think is what they are aiming for). Then China and Russia could be quite tempted to strike.
weak shit.
It isn't about that. Once there is a major exchange and somebody suffers a huge blow, the dynamic that keeps the peace is disrupted. MAD depends on balance and some rational expectation of what will happen next. Most of CONUS reduced to the 19th century is not a predictable world. If you think nuclear war is going to happen anyway, you should strike when it best favors you.

Another commie sympathizing liberal orthodoxy, this one relatively recent; "it's not a full fledged hydrogen bomb!", it's repeated over and over in the liberal and Euopean media, and I've seen some ridiculously low estimates being thrown around, like "50 kilotons".
Which, fake news, and deliberately so I would suspect, because 6.3 magnitude? Again, American underground hydrogen bomb test in 1971 at 6+ magnitude? 5 megatons.
Another example would be the 1994 Northridge earthquake, 6.5 magnitude, US Geological Survey calculated equivalent TNT at 5.6 megatons.
But somehow when the North Koreans bang off a 6.3 magnitude, the lefties rate that at "it's only 50 kts"? Yeah, OK, sure.
The North Koreans say they've carried out a "perfect hydrogen bomb" test, and I take them at their word, their apologists are vaslty more apologist than the North Koreans themselves, it's laughable, the North Koreans don't apologize for North Korea, only liberals do.

And bear in mind, when their first claimed two stage test only reached 4.8 magnitude, I too said "doesn't sound like the second stage went off, first stage fired, second stage, partial at best"....
.... but 6.3 magnitude? Bingo, they just hit the jackpot.

Ok. Picture India in our position right now. They're constantly being threatened by Pakistan, who's suddenly developing bigass weapons and shaking sabers across the border. India acts first, nukes the shit out of Pakistan, invades their turf, and gets all invasion-y.Smitty-48 wrote:You're just projecting your disgruntled resentment towards America unto the rest of the world, who aren't nearly as anti-American as the anti-American Americans, who knew? Do you think popular opinion goes to India in the week following? Or are they instantly painted as wanton aggressors, a dangerous subhuman race, and a threat to the region?
Do people around the world protest in the streets in their favor? Are governments eager to support the oppressed Indian population, or suddenly treating them as an existential threat? BBC Headline: "Where will India strike next? The world wonders."

India wouldn't care, India would do what it had to do, it's nuclear weapons, there's no second chances, and it's not a popularity contest.
When it comes to nuclear threats against the CONUS, if I was CinC, it wouldn't be based on PR, I'm not taking a hydrogen bomb to the CONUS, just to appease the internationalist peaceniks and America haters, and in the end, they're nobodies, they could be as disgruntled and resentful as they wanna be, they already are, I'm not going to bother to try to please these people, my duty would be to the United States of America, to defend it, first and foremost, nuclear threat, top o' the list.

Again, you're speaking exactly like our neocon politicians - no thought for anything beyond this week/year/election cycle. You'd doom us all, while saving us from the immediate threat.Smitty-48 wrote:GrumpyCatFace wrote:Ok. Picture India in our position right now.
