Meaning US or the Russians? Who is telling themselves what?
The Russians probably told themselves that the people would greet them with flowers and the enemy would surrender in 2 weeks. Standard war rhetoric.
I doubt it but that is the standard Western media narrative.

Dude has been warning everyone about the Russian red line for years and yet Noodleman and the rest have been ignoring it. Either bumblefucking our way or actively trying to provoke WWIII. But he is the cray cray one... I just don't see it.
Oh I agree. I’m just talking about the ‘justification’ for it.

The realpolitik is all about the buffer zone between him and NATO. And water supply for crimea.

I did see a report that the Russians blew the dam in the first week.
The North Crimea Canal is full.

Russia playing their trump cards now. Rubles only, motherfuckers. Who is breaking first? My bet is the EU, specifically Germany.

Eastern Ukraine to Russia is a wrap. The rest of Ukraine is never going to be NATO. Pelosi and Biden lose their criminal playground and the Petro Dollar is a thing of yesteryear.

#VivaUkraine, I guess.

I'm not 100% sure about the petro dollar is a thing of the past. Russia is attempting to get their currency as the currency of oil...at the same time attach their dollar to the gold standard...

They have just in many ways handcuffed themselves to their ability to print more money. For the more money, you print you automatically devalue the currency by that percentage.

Russia has the same issue the US does, it likes to spend other people's money. I am unsure how this is going to work in their favor...

Russia is taking rubles for gas, and China is selling oil in yuan.

By breaking the dollars monopoly on energy trades, they force other countries to hold other currencies than dollars, in order to buy those things.

Essentially, we don’t have as many people holding dollars, so we can’t just print them like crazy without devaluing our currency.

The timing is perfect for them, as we just printed 80% of ALL dollars in the past few years. We’re an inch away from hyper-inflation.

How about Russia saying "Fuck y'all, pay me in Rubles only now."? Hari Kari for the hegemony of the petrol dollar. Thanks, Biden.
The Ruble has recovered all it's losses from the start of the war and sanctions.

I read a good piece last night from a Russian author who left Russia because, you can't be an honest reporter and live in Russia. She is still tied in with Russian elites and Duma members, and she talked to them the first week of the war. In that first week of the war the elites were not happy, they can't say they were mad at Putin, but they were. Fast forward a month and due to all the sanctions and pressure being put on Russia and the Russian people the attitude had completely changed. Our sanctions have made the Russian people hate us. She quoted a Russian Elite saying, "Now we Fuckem All".

The Russians feel like it is them against the world right now, and it has united the Russian people, and united them under Putin, he is more popular than ever. This is what happens when you don't understand history or a people. Russians are at their best when their back is against the wall.

Yes.
Further, Russia said if you want to buy energy from us, you have to open an account in Rubles with the Russian Central bank.

Now the Ruble is backed by Gold too. 1 gram = 5000 Rubles.

HOW A 200,000 MAN ARMY HAS PINNED DOWN AN ARMY OF 600,000
“The Russian forces, which numbered 200,000 men, managed with maneuvers and deceptions to pin down 600,000 Ukrainian Army. “The Russians have adopted an improved version of the American Desert Storm operation, fixing superior Ukrainian forces.”

These are the words of two former analysts and CIA intelligence officers.

In particular, the former CIA analyst, Larry Johnson, stressed that “the Russian siege of Kiev for the past three weeks was intended to commit Ukrainian forces and reserves in the protection of the Ukrainian capital.

“Thus, Russia was able to conduct large-scale operations in the east and south of the country.”....

“The Russian campaign in Ukraine will be included in the war maneuver manuals.

https://seemorerocks.is/how-a-200000-ma ... of-600000/
I believe before the war started the estimated size of the Ukraine army was about 200,000. The majority of the 600,000 are people fresh off the streets. Most of the progress that Russia had was made before the new recruits joined. I don't think it is accurate to say a 200,000 man army pinned down a 600,000 man army.

And have you seen the news about talks between China and India? This is really starting to coalesce into a new world order just not the one imagined by Tedros, Soros and the rest of the lizard community.

Yeah, from the rest of the worlds perspective, the US getting so amped up over Ukraine makes no sense. Just symptomatic of a dying empire.

They dgaf whose money they use, they need oil/gas.

The lizards simply reached a level of hubris that undermined everything we’ve built. Now the house of cards is falling, and it’s a long way down. The only question is going to be how hard they lash out.
