see I think it's too late

Trump was an effective bulwark preventing this from happening in the first place

but now that it has happened, Trump can't put the genie back in the bottle
The huge problem here is that this ratchet is sliding and all our side can do is hold, we can't get any clicks b/c we're so outnumbered and outmaneuvered. There's what: a dozen of us who aren't FMS? We can't even keep a single, off-grid forum from being overrun.
we are going to be overrun

but that is when things get interesting

this is the path to populist radicalization en masse

embrace the suck

Supposedly the Ukraine consulate already did, I don't have to.

As for me just being an avatar, your point? I'm like this in real life, I don't talk in platitudes, and I don't deal with bullshit. So what are you peddling now?

Platitudes and pedantry or something worthwhile?

I didn't see it as being that "nuts"

a lot of big talk, but in the end, in terms of policy, seemed like a conventional Reagan Democrat to me

Reagan was nuts, dude. We almost got blowed up.
No, we didn't. We almost did during Kennedy...we were less than 20 seconds from going nuclear on Cuba/Russia to remove the missiles. Reagan knew where we stood and went with it. We weren't even close to that level of "oh shit."

Ronald Reagan pushed the world closest we ever came to nuclear war. It is actually a very apropos topic to today because Putin used Able Archer as a blueprint for his Ukrainian invasion.

Reagan frankly just stole all his Cold War policies from Jimmy Carter

Reagan adopted the Carter Doctrine to the letter

Jimmy Carter had already commenced the build up, Reagan simply carried on with Tip O'Neill after

I wouldn't assume it is just mine. Seems pretty obvious to me. I thought it was obvious when he was doing his exercises before the invasion. I figured he was implicitly touching on Able Archer as a warning that he could actually carry out the invasion if he really wanted to do it. I didn't think he would be stupid enough to break the china and buy it.

Reagan made the Soviets back down and capitulate, he made them shit their pants

that's not a good argument against more of that from Trump, that undermines your Trump Derangement Syndrome rant, in fact
