If we didn't break apart the Ottoman Empire, if we didn't invade Iraq, if we didn't do a lot of things we wouldn't be trillions in debt today. They would be a threat, but I am unsure they would be the same kind of threat we are seeing today.

Well, the Arab luddite revolts started in the 18th C. when the Ottoman Sultans started to modernize to keep up with the West. But the traditionalists were having none of it and the Jannissarys revolted. Eventually the Sultans got rid of the Jannissarys, but that didn't solve the same problem that exists today. These people refuse to modernize.

This isn't a 20th or 21st C. issue, this is a 300 year old issue.
