If there was ever a symptom of globalist insanity...
Egypt are asking for 900 million compensation for a loss of 100 million in revenues and the cost of clearing the blockage.
This isn't going to be a short court battle.
Check out the link in there to a Guardian article about some poor shit that’s been in solitary on his boat for 2 years. Fucking
Crazy.
Happens all the time.
There was a case settled recently of an Indian guy who spent 4 years waiting to get paid. Everyone else on the crew eventually accepted low offers but he held out for the full amount, including the time he was waiting, and he went home with about 150k. More than enough to set up a business back home and never go to sea again.
Death, death, to the IDF.

Don't think that has anything to do with globalism. That is just a country deciding to use the crew as hostages to extort a company for money. This is a practice that probably goes back to the beginnings of civilization.

Globalism would be creating an international law they states it is illegal for a country to take a crew hostage. Which I think would be a very good thing to do.

Egypt don't need to take the crew hostage. They have the ship and its billion dollars worth of cargo.
As if Evergreen give AF about a few Filipino crewmen anyway.

Wait, you all are telling me that in the last couple of months maritime law has somehow become complex, often arbitrary, and no longer functions quickly, seamlessly, and with great deference to the comfort and freedom of movement of sailing crews???

Why, this is the worst example of globalist insanity since the Phoenicians made the law of the seas the most user-friendly and homogenous system ever known to man.

Somebody get Keyrock on the phone!

As expected, nothing to contribute.

Again, I was referring to the 4-5 different nationalities involved in the companies that run it. It’s fairly insane to my eye, but if this is the norm, then fuck those crew guys. Starve em.

If you consider me a foe, for being one of two members willing to converse openly with you, you’re gonna have a bad time on the internet.
