Love it, hate it, I don't care, but I have been researching COVID-19 to the level that I can only come to the conclusion that not only is this entire pandemic produced on false information, but has been continued allowing that data to cause fear and in turn has destroyed not only our economy but has put our some of our citizens at higher risk of dying.
This is not what we should be doing, and if anything, we should smartly be dealing with this pandemic like we have all others.

COVID-19-sm.pdf

Why did you write this like it was some technical peer reviewed thing, when it is obviously an editorial? This isn't going to be in Scientific American. I share many of your opinions, but I looked through your pdf and it is formatted as though it would be in some journal, when really it could be broken down into 3 or 4 posts on here. I especially like the photos of politicians who are featured, as though it is some kind of graph or data point. Who is the target audience for it? Most folks on here already don't like their governors' response, so there is no need for a separate pdf.

I'm genuinely baffled by this. Are you distributing this at your work?

This is my thought process pretty much, as for the rest, it was an editorial of sorts, but each bit of commentary I provided I also provided a rebuttal to the talking points that the talking heads have been utilizing. (with points of proof upon why I said what I did)

I didn't want this document to be something that could be easily dismissed because, well let's be honest, the way things are today, it's said without facts to back up their statements, and when they provide facts as of late it's been piss poor. (as my document proves)

Also, today's articles are editorials unless you've noticed.

As for distributing it, I'm debating it, but it won't be at my work...

If Patrice isn't on your list then you are lacking.

I'm guessing that you don't actually know that many British comedians.
Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Al Murray, Lee Mack, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Fry, David Mitchell and Hugh Dennis are a few of my favourites.
I bet most of you only know a couple of people from that list.
The problem with British humour is the BBC. It's become a charity institution producing sub par entertainment. All those comics spend most of their time on each others panel shows doing semi scripted banter. I blame the success of QI. Comedians have to stay hungry and desperate. Those guys are kept.
Funny that even though the diversity department of BBC makes sure to stack those shows with women and non whites you only list white men.
What's wrong with Sara Pascoe. Romesh? Is McIntyre to Chinese for you?
Little Britain was fun but it was ages ago.

Carr and Gervais are funny enough.

Give me some Stanhope or Burr for top tier over any of those.

Metzger, Mullen and, Gillis are the future. Nevermind us some Stavros.

I do like Sara Pascoe and Romesh. Nish Kumar is good as well. McIntyre I don't find funny at all, I prefer comedians with a bit of edge and he is far too non-offensive for me, same with Sarah Milligan.
I'd agree with your criticism of panel shows although I always watch QI and Have I Got News For You. The BBC does spotlight some less well-known comics on its Live at the Apollo shows and channel 4 has some good stuff like The Last Leg although that is probably a bit too liberal for most people here's tastes.
There is a really good stand up circuit in the UK these days from back rooms in pubs all the way up to sold-out arena tours by the likes of Peter Kay.
Stuart Lee is one of my favourites and his series of stand up shows on the BBC are well worth a watch if you have access to the BBC i-player. Very cerebral with an extremely dry delivery. Lee never goes on the panel shows for many of the same reasons you dislike them.

Gervais stands on his own legs as well. The panel shows are part of the transfertariat, the new upper class that relies on economic transfers from the lower classes. They don't have to please the people who pay them, they just have to be good enough for their friends who give them the job.

I really like Bill Burr but don't think much of Dave Chapelle, in fact I don't find him funny at all. Neither of them is very well known over here though.

You kind of make my point, the differences in styles of humour mean that not many stand-ups from either side of the pond successfully cross over.
Aussie comics do better over here than Americans. Jim Jefferies is one of my all-time favourites.
Jim Jefferies has been exposed as 100% hack bitch so no surprise you suck his dick so much. Besides he is now a US citizen so he is ours now.
Jefferies 1st special was pretty funny but everything since TDS and that video that exposed him selectively editing the video interview is so hack. John Oliver level hack.
Jefferies really is a top notch stand up and performer. I get that most people here won't like his political stuff because of his anti-gun and anti-Trump stance but check out his early stand up routines. The routine about getting his disabled friend a hooker is honest, brutal, moving and hilarious.
I see the influence of Bill Hicks and similarity with Burr or Stanhope. Not necessarily in terms of delivery but willingness to delve deep into his own personal life, warts and all.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
