Hmm. This is a good question because you aren't safely trained to teach your kids how to operate firearms I'm assuming and I don't know the age range. If they are young just keep the magazine loaded but the chamber empty, always empty, in a case with a small padlock up by the door in a closet if it's not too far from the kitchen. Otherwise maybe best in a safe in the bedroom. You can use a tool gang box from home Depot.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 2:31 pmHaving a bit of a conundrum about where to keep my weapon stowed. It’s currently cable-locked in the attic and the kids don’t know about it.
But at some point I’ll need to have it more at hand. Still working this one out.

That's where I would keep the long guns. I would sleep with a hand gun and keep it locked in the day in a case or safe. Or preferably on you 24/7

If your wife renounces the gun grabbing, it really is the best war ever.

9mm Canik pistol. Never loaded, never fired, but I have a friend that’s going to take me shooting whenever it stops raining.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 2:34 pmWhat kind of weapon is it ?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 2:31 pmHaving a bit of a conundrum about where to keep my weapon stowed. Age range is 2-12.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:11 pmHmm. I guess I could use the cable lock to secure the case itself, so it’s quicker to get to. Tricky stuff, for sure.
