Just piling on the evidence that tax revenues are not going towards paying for socialist policies as you still claim despite all the links showing otherwise.

The tax is absolutely a socialist thing - it's going straight to the general fund to pay for the bloated government. Socialists always need to increase revenue because they're always buying up votes with gibs....and gibs cost $$$$....
Sure, if you define "Socialist" as "higher taxes", it's Socialist. By that definition, raising taxes for the upkeep of a military force is also Socialism, raising taxes to improve infrastructure is "Socialism"... everything that leads to private money landing in public coffers is "Socialism". Someone will probably point that feudalism was Socialist again..

I prefer not to live in the same absurd "reality" as postmodern SJW's, though. I get that some of you here adopt the "b-b-but THEY are deconstructing the definition of words in a postmodern theater of the absurd, so WE need to do the same or WE'll LOSE!!", feel free to tuck your dicks between your legs and call yourselves women and those who don't accept your perceptions of reality "Socialists" if you like. I'm sure you'll be as succesful, loved and respected as SJW's are...

Keep talking shit Bjorn, but Sea Shepherd will soon bring justice your way....They got you guys on camera performing genocide.

You'll get a jail cell right next to Milosevic in the Hague and those gas tax increases will be paying for the crust of bread and water that the guards push through the floor slit.

"Entire industries"? Yeah, nah... that's not actually what the (dated) article of yours is posting. (I guess because tobacco, airlines, and telecommunications aren't industries in Europe?) "Part of Socialism".... clever wording, that. But still, Socialists will indeed use Nationalization... They will also use public schools. Ergo, one might say "public schools is part of Socialism"... *cough*

Get back to me when France actually meets the definition of Socialism, DB. As in, nationalizing ALL private businesses.
Of course.
If there's one black market hotdog stand operating in a nation, it ain't socialist.

Europeans, folks.
There you have it.

If you can't argue with facts, you can always try "arguing" with jokes, eh, DB? Well, this place is meant for entertainment, IIRC.

Are they entire industries, as in the entire tobacco industry, as in everyone in that industry. And as totally, seriously, Daily Show quality-funny as the hotdog stand mental image is, how about I ask you the opposite? Find a list of current French nationalized companies and businesses, and compare that number to the total list of companies in the respective sector. Oh, don't mind doing it for me... just do it for yourself.

We hid our cache of Encyclopedias inside the statues of Confederate Generals, figuring they'd be safe from college Marxists there.
That was a mistake.
I'd figure touching an encyclopedia would cause to turn into pillars of salt. If they got their hands on some really old encyclopedia's, the one's where Africans were considered a part of the biologically inferior races who needed the benevolent white man's guiding hand to save him from himself, they'd probably cause a rift in the time-space continuum.

Or commit seppukku. Then hang themselves for the cultural appropriation.

Easily done.

Current French Nationalization:
  • 1938 Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français (SNCF) (originally a 51% State holding, increased to 100% in 1982)
  • 1945 Several nationalisations in France, including most important banks and Renault. The firm was seized for Louis Renault's alleged collaboration with Nazi Germany, although this condemnation was without judgement and after his death, making this case remarkable and rare. A later judgement (1949) admitted that Renault's plant never collaborated. Renault was successful but unprofitable whilst nationalised and remains successful today, after having been partially privatized in 1996. France increased its 15% minority share holding in Renault to 19% in 2015.
  • 1946 Charbonnages de France, Electricite de France (EdF), Gaz de France (GdF)
  • 1982 François Mitterrand's alliance with Jean-Pierre Chevènement's Socialist Party faction CERES, committed France to an explicitly socialist ‘rupture with capitalism’. Full nationalisation (100%): the Compagnie Générale d'Electricité, the Compagnie Générale de Constructions Téléphoniques, Pechiney-Ugine-Kuhlmann, Rhône-Poulenc, Saint-Gobain-Pont-à-Mousson, Thompson-Brandt. Partial nationalisation (51%+): Dassault, Honeywell-Bull, Matra, Roussel-Uclaf, Sacilor, Usinor. Thirty-nine banks, two financial houses, and the remaining 49% of the SNCF were also nationalised, taking the size of the French state to unprecedented levels within a year of Mitterrand's election as President in 1981.
The Paris regional transport operator, RATP Group, can also be counted as a nationalised industry.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_n ... by_country

Simply compare the value of those nationalized assets against the value of the overall French economy and you'll find the *current* level of their socialized economy. In the 80's it was upwards of 25% socialized.

... and of course, that 25% of their economy needs tax revenue to operate, even if it falls 75% shy of EVERYTHING being socialized. So I find your 100% standard to be a little strange. It's not as if having the taxpayer subsidize a quarter of your economic output is negligible, since they don't subsidize 100%. Feel free to subsidize 25% of my lifestyle any time you want Bjorn - should be nothing to you, right?

Thanks for the 17th article *NOT* corroborating your ridiculous claims Monte.

If you're open to requests, the next time you cite yet another article that doesn't say anything about French fuel taxes going to the rich, can it be about Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate? I'm itching to play this game but I have papers to write so it's just languishing on my desk here.
Hey, don't let us stop you from getting on with your work. It's not as if you are contributing anything of value here.

I've got to go to bed myself soon as I'm chairing the AGM of the Socialist Workers Revolutionary Party tomorrow. ;)

If Europeans want to do socialism that's fine. Hell, if we tried universal healthcare here that would probably be fine. Open borders and socialism though? No thanks. What a recipe for disaster.

That's where I am at. I think the economic debate is a valid one, and we can compromise on that, but there is something deeper going on that the media and political class disguise with artificial economic divisions. Even in this forum, the characterization of this as "socialism" versus some other imaginary ideology is nonsense.

We are dealing with people who want to murder our civilization. Open borders is murder. It's inviting the same outcome as if we were conquested and defeated, but without the fighting. All this SJW nonsense is a war on the human mind and soul, the human family, and truth itself.

It's Marxism - that is what you are feeling.....the elite want to rule over the proles, and they are using the government to bring that about. Socialism is the gibs they use to keep the proles dependent on them. They are using SJWs to destroy white males because they represent the biggest threat to their plan. White males = the one demographic most likely to push back against an oppressive government.
