I recently stumbled onto Stringham's Anarchy and the Law. It is a long read, and not my area of expertise, but I am doing my best. Guy has really gotten my gears turning. I dig him.
He was recently on Malice's Your Welcome show.
Anyway, a lot of folks, myself included, do not like the current setup, but probably wonder how viable alternatives are. Stringham might be a good place to start.
Also check out Anatomy of The State by Murray Rothbard (Shoutout to Fife for the rec). You could read that book in one sitting, and it is a great breakdown of what governments are and what they do.
