We need a new car. (Probably used; no need to pay the depreciation fee.)
What's the best site to get quality info? Consumer reports, Edmunds? We're looking at a small SUV. We rented a Nissan Pathfinder for our camping trip. We liked it, but have literally nothing else to compare it to.

Consumer Reports to figure out what exactly you want. There are lots of decent options to actually finding a used car after that, and you should use them all to find the right vehicle. Also get a report on the specific car you find to see it's history before buying.

The "best" is arguably the Subaru, the most popular is prolly the Honda, but I would look at the Ford and Chevy too, whoever is gonna give you the best deal, car buying is all about haggling.
The Subaru has the expedition kit, it's all geared for offroad, but if somebody is gonna give you a deal on a Chevy Equinox, they're pretty good too.

whoreabuse.com is not strictly for cars, though many of the models and performers use them to get to the set. Don't know if that is specifically what you are looking for...
