Today was Cherry picking day.
Canned 16 Qts of pie filling. The rest headed to the Freezer.
Great yield!

I turn my cherries over to my brother for wine, he has a real knack for it. We will have some for the holidays.

It was actually a little less than half of last years crop. We had a late frost, but that's the way it goes.
My wife has a 32 Qt canner, so we were able to do it in one batch, which makes it nice.

Has anyone in the family got a still?
Cherry Brandy is a nice Christmas tipple.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Not YET.
I hope to get one set up this winter. I could definitely get into distilling.

Maybe Grumps will sell you some of his wheat for you to make whiskey with.

:D Oh, Whiskey is on the list. I do have access to plenty of grain in my area. My grandpa was a bootlegger during prohibition, and kept distilling after. My Dad can remember helping make it. It would be a good family tradition to revive.
