Get Ready for a Financial Assault on the Second Amendment
California Democrat Maxine Waters is the new chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee. To judge from the party’s past behavior and the various proposals emanating from the left, Waters’s Democrats are going to pressure banks, credit unions, and payment companies to severely curtail and even terminate their relationships with firearm manufacturers, licensed gun retailers, and law-abiding citizens exercising their right to purchase and own firearms. In other words, they will use political pressure to force private institutions into creating social policy that threatens constitutional rights.

. . .

Operation Choke Point and Sorkin’s proposals foreshadow the path that Democrats will take this term. Congress should not be pressuring financial institutions into policing the legal purchases of their customers.

I don't need to tell you this, but the proposed assault weapons ban is just the foreshadow, it will not pass, meanwhile the states are having their rights eroded bit by bit. There are some really shitty gun restrictions in the works for CA, and Newsome will likely pass them, whereas Jerry Brown actually didn't. California has the shittiest gun laws in the country, they are getting worse, and the big cities on the coast support them, so we're fucked. You can't get new pistols, you can't get assault weapons, whatever those are, they're going to limit the amount of guns you can get, judges are going to sign away our rights, and you're going to need a background check to get .22 ammo. Nobody is really standing up to these infringements, the NRA sucks ass, cases don't make it the scotus, and even a firebrand like Trump won't take up the cause. The proposed awb grandfathers in those rifles anyway, so a lot of people won't make a fuss. I want to be optimistic, but I think the 2nd amendment is going down in flames in a generation or two. It's a cryin ass shame.

If they really want a Civil War, this is the way to get it. This is where Americans draw the line. We've done it before over weapons and out of touch controlling distant master, we'll do it again.

Who needs more than 20 rounds a month (following a background check), or mag with more than 5 rounds? Who needs a gun without the sheriff's permissions? Terrorists, that's who.

heard about this from some dudes at work so don't quote me on it, but i think at some point in california it will be illegal to buy ammo for a gun that isn't registered to you. the new ammo restrictions going in this year will become more common in the future i expect

Not gonna be much Ruger, Springfield, and Remington to buy if we don't have any effective advocates.
