So, when you were in the Swedish Army, what was the base idea of the defense of the country and what did you guys consider your biggest threats ?
There was only one threat, the Soviet Union. It was never said out loud. We called it The Enemy. The base idea was to make Sweden to expensive to invade. Defense in depth and delaying actions was what we prepared for. Also repulsing airborne assaults and invasion by sea.
The most likely scenario was a greater regional war that we were dragged into. NATO was seen as a probable ally.

Early in my career in the mid late 80s it was all Soviets. Hold 'em at the Fulda Gap, we had to kill their tanks and troops at like a 10:1 ratio, lots of Chem, Bio, Nuke training. While maintaining the ability to fight 2 full scale wars in different places around the globe.

Look at the beauty of the simplicity of this thing.

I wonder if I could make a version of that in my shop. Look at that simple 2 piece trigger: GO/STOP
That fires from the open bolt position doesn't it ?
Yes it does. The safety is ingenious. The charging handle can be pushed through and there are two holes where it can stick and prevent the bolt from moving. The back hole is for when it’s in battery and the front one is to prevent it from firing if dropped.
There are parts kits you can buy. I saw a video of a guy who got one.

Sorry about that. The one in the video is a police version. We didn’t have any select switch. Full auto only but single shots was easy to do. We had a bayonet lug as well. Mine was the early version without the hook and no green paint job.

Ian at forgotten weapons recently did a video on the American copy. Still waiting for him to do the Swedish K.

What makes it shoot so well is the spring and the weight of the bolt. It never hits the back buffer. All the energy is taken up by the spring. The bolt is heavy enough to give a slow steady auto fire.

It's always good to review sound shooting fundamentals from time to time.
