I would think you would want to have a plate of some sort to mount the hand gun to. Maybe StA's suggestion was more practical than twcticool now that I think of it.

What you can do is just have a removable panel, a hard panel to mount your holster, mags, knife, baton etc to, you can slide it in and out as you need it, just have two sided velcro, put the panel in, secure it with velcro, if you want to transfer your weapons to some other mode, you just slide it out and take it with you.

That's the same as what the Sitka does. But you can also carry an armor plate in there.
At least your chest gets some armor when you do that.

Yeah, that's too much Geardo, I don't know how it is in Texas, but in the 6ix, they'll custom make a messenger bag for you any way you want it, so that's what I would do, I would just have them make all the pieces to order, then insert my own ballistic plate after, but I would keep it bike messenger style, that totally blends in up here, everybody is rocking that shit in the 6ix.

Lots of American guys carry these bags now, so it might actually be somewhat gray man at this point, depending on your region.

That's true, if it's in tacticool country, out in the sticks, where the military/ex-military/prepper roam, then Geardo probably blends in.
I still don't like that design tho, messenger bag is better, for the diagonal cross shoulder slide mode, so you can swing it front to back with ease, that bag has too much right angle to it, and too much on the outside, instead of all inside, behind the flap.

Uh.... can I order one from you? We don't have custom made things here.Smitty-48 wrote:Yeah, that's too much Geardo, I don't know how it is in Texas, but in the 6ix, they'll custom make a messenger bag for you any way you want it

I have one, but I still use it to roll around in the city, I know where to get one custom made, but only in the 6ix. Mind you, that one I showed you from the online bike store website is pretty similar to mine, all you gotta do it get a panel which is tacticool and mount your tactical shit to that, then insert it into an off the shelf messenger bag, just put the Geardo kit inside the Hipster bag.TheReal_ND wrote:Uh.... can I order one from you? Messenger bags usually come with a divider, so if you have a tactical panel, you can just drop that into the divider pouch inside the main bag.
You could use something like an NcStar rifle scabbard, mount your shit to the molle on the outside, then drop that into a messenger bag for covert, and you can pull it out and use it for your rifle when overt.

It's a little bit like that where I live, but honestly, I would rather do something like you described with your messenger bags but with something from REI. That's what's carried around most. Most veterans carry the tacticool stuff, which sends a message. If you want that message, cool, but if not, go REI.

Yeah, I have all my aftermarket high speed low drag military kit still, but I don't roll with that stuff in the 6ix obviously, but like I say, I could just drop a molle chest rig panel into the divider pouch of my courier bag, if I needed to go tactical covert.
The advantage of the courier bag is two fold, not only does it hide in plain sight, but it has a volume to it, so you can swing it around onto your chest, and then manipulate all sorts of things inside the bag, and no one can see what you're doing, can't see into it even if you're standing right next to me, so you can be packing heat, or rolling a joint, or whatever, and no one can tell from even a few feet away.
It's not just concealed carry, it's a concealed work space, so you can be checking your gun, making sure it's loaded and ready, check the chamber, change mags, whatever, inside the volume of the bag, and it just looks like you're flipping through documents or looking for your phone etcetera. You can be prepping for battle standing right on a busy street corner, and nobody can tell what you're doing and it doesn't attract attention.
We used to do covert reconnaissance taskings for aid to the civil power, counterterrorism jointex, and I just used my courier bag in lieu of fighting order when we were plainclothes.
