How that would actually happen is an interesting question.

Also, I think Star Trek tech might tend to make us more globalized, rather than the idea being that globalization leads to the tech. Let's say nobody needed fossil fuels and everyone could have excellent food and medical care about as easily as they can now listen to a radio. There would be a lot less to fight over, fewer refugees, less concern over refugees, etc.

I think you lost touch with your nature. You are a nuclear weapons wielding hominid. Globalism and hominids don't mix. If we can bump into some aliens, we can direct our tribalism towards those guys, but we still break down into gangs and factions regardless.

Star Trek future is a sham. Embrace you inner nuclear primate.

We really need to go public with sasquatch. People will start to realize what we are when they see another species of hominids acting like hominids.

That kumbaya stuff is not for us.

Yeah, that's when it got good in Enterprise.
Yup and in Deep Space Nine most of all.
And TNG, when Locutus Of Borg invaded Wolf 359.

And Voyager, when they battled the borg queen.

Weird... their best moments come when fighting a zombie hive mind, bent on fascism...

The Borg are communists bro, try to keep up. The best moments come when fighting The Dominion, though the Borg are probably the best foil considering they are in more than one series.

Yes they are. A totalitarian, single-minded collective, in which all resources - even personality - is shared. One mono-chromatic mass of beings all the same.

The thing about The Borg was that they were always coming. They always seemed like they never stop and they do not fear, need sleep, eat, etc... Plus, the would always adapt really fast to weapons and make you one of them. They were like the perfect enemies and at least TNG and DS9 never totally became about them. But Voyager really did overplayed The Borg, in my opinion.

They had to, they didn't really have any other good material. Without the Borg episodes Voyager would have been pretty lame.
