Only people that use third generation warcraft can call their rifles assault rifles.

Technically I suppose, it was actually "Stormrifle". But again, don't brame me, Rabbi; literally Hitler.

Colt's Manufacturing LLC refers to their civilian pattern Armalite as the "Commercial Sporting Rifle", but that seems rather Orwellian.

Re: The Armory - Guns, Knives, and Axes
In the end, I simply find the term "assault rifle" to be logical and accurate; a compact, lightweight, intermediate calibre, low recoil, rapid fire, automatic rifled carbine, with high capacity magazine, for military/paramilitary application, optimized for the offensive, particularly the approach, assault, and subsequent close quarters battle.

Well fine, then I'll just call it a home defense rifle then.

I would prefer the shotgun for home defense, just due to high velocity overpenetration, five-five-six could go through your entire home and into the home of the Chinaman living next door, next thing you know the Chinaman sues you and lose your home to the courts.
