It's designed for breaching barriers like windshields and there are frangible loads that won't pass through more than a couple walls. Pretty much made for check points.

Even the part that StA invokes, the beta male mating strategy Beto O'Rourke effect?
That was around in the 19th century too, the Temperance Ladies leveraged that from the beginning.

Beowulf is actually a revolver cartridge tho, adapted from the S&W 500 Magnum.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 8:13 amIt's designed for breaching barriers like windshields and there are frangible loads that won't pass through more than a couple walls. Pretty much made for check points.

Didn't know that. Apparently it's shimmied on top of a 7.62*39 rim so you can just use a 7.62 bolt

S&W 500 Magnum is 12.7 x 41mm.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 8:23 amDidn't know that. Apparently it's shimmied on top of a 7.62*39 rim so you can just use a 7.62 bolt
Beowulf is 12.7 x 42mm
Beowulf has a higher muzzle velocity, 1800 fps, S&W 500 is only 1425 fps.

Well that's really good for a pistol round anyway. 10mm is only 1250 fps.

.357 magnum will go through a windshield, go through an engine block too.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 8:30 amWell that's really good for a pistol round anyway. 10mm is only 1250 fps.
S&W 686 gets the job done, yet is more versatile.
.50 Beowulf is not likely to disable a vehicle any quicker than a .357 magnum.
If you want instant disable, that's probably going to require 12.7 x 99mm

Friend of mine just picked up a 454 for a good deal. Still hasn't found any rounds for it. I should pick him some up next time I go to a gun show.

Obviously a sizeable downgrade from the GT-R, but I've been having fun with this FR-STheReal_ND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 9:25 amFriend of mine just picked up a 454 for a good deal. Still hasn't found any rounds for it. I should pick him some up next time I go to a gun show.
It's a tight whip for the buck.
