I don't think we'll ever see Weimar Republic levels of hyperinflation in the US.
For the very simple reason - as other's have pointed out - that your mortgage will be less than bread.

Who holds more sway in our system:
1. Bankers, who are holding the mortgage loans.
2. Bakers, who are holding bread.

The US will jack treasury rates so high to save bankers from inflation that you'll wonder how your dollar became so strong while also trying to figure out how to pay off the new 728% interest rate on your credit card.

Pretty hard to operate without credit cards today. We use them for monthly bills, travel and the occasional whatever. When you start buying gas and food with CC's, your fucked.
