Have you ever fired a thompson or a garand? If so, how do they stack up against the German and Russian guns from the era?

Ooh sturmgewehr!
https://www.hmgunworks.com/product/hmg- ... ength-223/

I've fired a nagant can't speak for mausers but I hear they are very popular with enthusiasts. Nagant's are dirt cheap for a reason. Hell of a round though. Cheap, powerful, nagant. Accurate? .... nah

/k/ calls them moist nuggets like mosin nagant, except when you get them they are smothered in cosmoline so moist nugget.

Tommy over Papashah; .45 ACP > 7.62x25mm Tokarev, I've never handled an SVT-40, prolly a pretty good match for Garand tho, but it wasn't the Soviet standard issue, most of them had Mosin-Nagant's.

I think I saw Pappah in a Syria video the other day. Can't remember though.

One of the Russian machine guns looks like a Tommy gun with the drum magazine and all. I picture some Soviet Al Capone using it to wipe out Kulaks for hoarding a chicken and a milk bucket. Gotta pay that protection money...

Papashah is longer ranged than the Tommy, but odds are, you're gonna need the stopping power more than range, with an SMG.

I always liked the Finnish m39 nagant jobs. If I ever have some money to throw around on a rifle again I will probably get one. Only about two to three times the price of a nagant and they just plain shoot well. Once the Finn's gained independence they set about retooling all the shitty Russian nagants into a rifle that is worth the name.
