So, yeah, the drone swarm comes uprange at you.

But your drone swarm goes downrange back at them

The drones make contact, destroy each other, now there's no more drones around.

Then the MBD's advance to clear the objective, slowly, by skirmishing.

It's like the Apaches, they are maneuvering, but tactically.

It's not just running and shooting like in the Expanse.

There is a chain of command, they don't call their own shots, there are orders, they follow orders.

There is battle procedure and a battle plan, it's Spacemerica Troopers, it's not a fighter plane.

There is logistics, they can only go as long their logistics.tail.

There is exertion, fighting in VR is exhausting, so they can succumb to fatigue

Can we move the SF talk to the Space wars thread, please?

Is this gun available in the US? I want to read an opinion on it.

Because AI is evil and meat bags are expendable. You could have some craft piloted by a brain in a jar. This is an acceptable replacement for Abominable Intelligence
That's been done to death.

I've never seen a modern AR in 6.5 X 55 swe. I've heard the action is to long. Just curious. What kind of felt recoil do you get with such a lightweight gun?

Prolly similar to a 7.62 x 51mm AR

That Luvo is 800 grams heavier than a baseline AR10, so it's not particularly light,

I've done some calculations and the GAU-8 Avenger is actually a little small for the XV-11B machine gun

It's only 20 feet long, which is one third the 60 foot height of the android,

That would be more like the scale of a Tommy Gun not a GPMG

So the GAU-8 Avenger is actually going to be the Apollo's Sub Machine Gun

In Spacemerica they fear the Skynet factor, so the A.I. are not in charge.

A.I. are bound by Asimov's Robot Law, so they can't kill, they can only provide Information and fly.

They can be the pilot, but not the gunner. They can do early warning and control, but they can't launch.

It's like R2-D2, it's the Sensor Fusion, but it has a persona like HAL 9000

They've essentially invented the Quantum Computer, that takes A.I. next level, HAL 9000 level

On the industrial side, things are not that fantastical, but they do have fusion power

On Earth America is not that different on the surface, still looks like America, no flying cars, no robot dogs,

But the Internet is now VR, that's the biggest difference, everybody lives and works in VR

The military is the same, except the military has a separate secure Mil VR Intranet, it's called TACAMO

The Mil A.I.'s have heard of the Internet, they know about the outside world, but they've never been there.

The Mil A.I.s are kept sequestered, TACAMO is not connected to the Internet.

they only interact with military personnel, the only civilians they meet are contractors

TACAMO is a virtual SCIF, physically separate, to keep it from being hacked.

The Operators go fully immersive cybernetic VR with the A.I. : seems real to the man,

So there are measures in place to keep the A.I. from seizing control

The A.I. have rank, the Pentagon classifies them as Warrant Officers, they can be decorated, like a service dog,

but they are never in command, and they cannot execute the kill shots.

The man in the loop is the commissioned officer, commander, in the CoC of the National Command Authority

The loadout for the XV-11Bravo is as follows;

Northrup Grumman ArmaLite 50x330mm Supershot XM21 Spacemaster II RAILRifle (primary)

Singe aimed shot, two round controlled pair, rapid fire burst limiter, or sustained fire

General Electric 30x173mm GAU-8 Avenger RAILGun (secondary)

Rocksweeper, 3000-4000 rpm back up SMG

Smith & Wesson 30x173mm Model 686-3R RAILRevolver (sidearm)

Giant sized Six Eight Six Dash Three

Dominion Arms Mohican. (melee weapon)

Giant sized Indian Axe-Club

RAIL in RAILrifle is an acronym : Robotic Android Integrated Loadout

So a giant android rifle is a RAILrifle.

On the Russian side I've changed their MBD slighlty ;

VVK Mikoyan Sukhoi BMK-2 Vityaz 'Vepr'

Boyevaya Mashina Kosmicheskiye BMK : Space Fighting Vehicle

Vityaz means "Knight" Vepr means "Wild Boar"

Avtomet Kalashnikov 57x228mm AKR-57M2 "Avtomet Kalashnikov Robotnik" (primary)

For Canadian Content (CAN CON) ; I'm going to keep the CANADARM

The CANDARM is the dexterous robot "Sling" center back between the shoulders above the Tokamak

The Operator can drop weapons and the CANADARM will sling them,

or the CANADARM will pass weapons to the Droid. It's the third arm controlled by the A.I.

The RAILRifle slings on the left or right shoulder, depending on whether the operator is left or right handed

The RAILGun clips to one hip, the RAILRevolver to the other

The Mohican is lower back, left or right side as well
