I was thinking that, but it’s a lot darker. Commando was more slapstick.

Its hard for me to judge, I was raised by beatniks, when I was 10, I could watch the Shining because that was Kubrick, but I wasn't allowed to watch the Flintstones because it was "sexist".

I grew up with Back to the Future (1&2) and the Indiana Jones trilogy. Damn was Harrison Ford on a great run from the late 70s til the late 80s. Good stuff.

For some reason probably b/c my dad always watched them over and over again. Those older WWII movies.
Battle of the Bulge, Patton,Tora Tora, Bridge too Far, Longest Day, etc. etc.

Total Recall, Running Man, and Terminator.

Ultimately depends on how old the "kids" are. Preteens should be exposed to War classics IMO.
