I can't fathom a reality in which I work half time for the same level of comfort I provide my family right now, but if it were possible, I'd rather have more time to invest in my wife and daughter. That is very important to me.

If Sweden wasn't socialist, meaning their tax system is used for "fairness" rather than increasing liberty, it'd be fine. I'd want the emphasis placed on individuals getting wealthy themselves rather than creating equality, whatever that is.MilSpecs wrote:Isn't how that one of the Nordic countries' taxation system work? Wouldn't the system you're proposing result in increased 'fairness'?Martin Hash wrote:If Sweden wasn't socialist, meaning their tax system is used for "fairness" rather than increasing liberty, it'd be fine. No not really actually. That's a fair point. Another is that their immigrant population is actually already used to getting something for nothing. That's one of the methods they are kept in line with.MilSpecs wrote:So there are no jobs available?TheReal_ND wrote:NO!MilSpecs wrote:

"Fairness" is a subjective word used to gain control. What is "fair" to you is probably not "fair" to me. I think people getting wealthy through their own choices (and luck) is fair, but there is about half the nation that thinks everyone having the same thing is fair. So, I guess as long as you go along with what I call "fair" then, yeah, my proposed system increases fairness.MilSpecs wrote:Wouldn't the system you're proposing result in increased 'fairness'?

You could always keep people in line by convincing them they ought to push pipe 6 days a week, 12 hours a day in order to survive.TheReal_ND wrote:No not really actually. That's a fair point.
