It was also America which invented Gun Control. That comes from the West.

Started with Slave laws in the late 17th C. First gun control for freemen was in Louisiana to prevent free blacks from bearing arms. I think it was restricted to towns, blacks could own and use firearms in the woods for hunting.
Indeed, you can't have a slave state with the right bear arms, other than for the Plantation Aristocracy.

John Brown gonna come to Harper's Ferry to arm the blacks? Casus Belli.

Then it went out West.

Started at the municipal level.

Cowboys being forced to surrender their guns at the town limits to keep them from the lighting up the saloons

There was no gun control in Canada at the time. Canada adopted American gun control in 1885, why?

Louis Riel and the Metis. The Northwest Rebellion.

The gun control was to give the Mounties the mandate to disarm them.

The British Crown did lot have a right to bear arms, so there was no need for gun control laws.

You only need gun control laws when the people have a right to bear arms.

The British Crown prior to 1689 needed no law to seize an arm.

By order of the King, no written law, that was arbitrary.

Gun control is American, because of the Second Amendment

That was why the laws were written, to constrain Americans, no such law was needed to constrain Britons.

English Bill of Rights of 1689 clearly states:
That the Subjects which are Protestants may have Arms for their Defence suitable to their Conditions and as allowed by Law.
So not only does it establish a basic normative right for Protestants to have arms, it clearly creates absolute gun control (indeed prohibition of arms of any kind) for any other members of society, and then subordinates that right to "suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law" (hence, guns could at any time be confiscated by an act of Parliament, and they were).

The opposite of that dumbass statement is the truth. The United States is explicitly predicated upon NO GUN CONTROL. It is a rejection of gun control since you cannot have self-government by disarmed peasants.

The 1689 Bill of Rights is the first law to assert a right to bear arms, in allowance of the law.

There was no gun control laws written to constrain it, because it was already constrained in the text,

Gun control doesn't come about, until the American assertion of an absolute right to bear arms.

Again, you only need control, when there is right which removes prior constraint.

Dude, just stop. Fucking come on. Gun control and England go together like ass dildos and Richard Simmons.

The whole place was under a strict gun control regime before the Puritans, Caveliers, and Scotch-Irish ever stepped foot on a sailing ship. For fuck sake this is stupid.

My "silly posts" contain strict facts that contradict one of the most asinine assertions I have ever read on this forum. What you posted was truly an embarrassment.

The United States invented gun control. That's fucking stupid, dude, and you should be embarrassed.

The United States began as a revolt against English gun control, you twit.
