It's going to be noisy and unpleasant to shoot. Too bad they don't make take down arrows to throw in a surplus pack

It's only a 40 lbs draw. My longbow is 60 lbs and it's not that unpleasant to shoot. But carrying it around would be a bitch.

I never had any problems carrying a longbow innawoods when I was a kid. Guess it depends on what you want to carry for the situation. There is a benefit to having a stowable bow I guess. I just wouldn't want to shoot one. I don't like recurves either. I'm far less accurate with one.

Seems really useful for an emergency kit. Thoughts?

Bare Bones kit $ 429, Full Blown Kit $ 500
That put's it slightly more than entry level compound bows and at the level of upper quality recurve bows.

It's pretty cool.

Yeah, it's out of my price range, but I thought it was a good design. Not sure how well it shoots.

It's basically marketed for emergency gear (like bugout bags). It's not something you want to go out hunting with for fun. It's just easy to stow away. Your emergency gear is already pretty heavy, so getting a bow down to about three lbs that can fit in a pack is kind of nice.

It's a cool design, props to them. The survivalist type market it pretty hot. Give it some time and competition will bring down the price a little, maybe a third at best. It's still kind of expensive to build.

3D-printed gun blueprints can be downloaded starting next month, ending lengthy legal battle

Right now 3-D Printed guns aren't really much. What this ruling does is allows US Gun Nerds room, free from prosecution to dive into the possibilities and make them into something really big. They will too. Don't doubt me. Gun Nerds are a crazy bunch, they love tinkering with guns and figuring out 'what else' they can do. This is how we ended up with legal AR's that are belt fed with rapid fire capabilities and completely legal.
