A law like that is literally designed to make you a victim.

Why?
You don't own a gun for self defence in the UK. They are for hunting or pest control.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Read your post and try to imagine why this is literally designed to make you a victim.

It's excessive, which makes it harassment. Sort of like mandatory annual drug tests of the entire population. That's something that would stop way more crime too, btw. But most people would understandably find the whole thing excessive.

Or cavity searches of everyone crossing the border. Would stop a lot of drug smugglers, but it's too much of an infringement on people's rights to privacy. So we don't do it.

Guns are being treated as a way larger threat to society, than they in fact are. And that's not saying ALL forms of gun control is unreasonable or excessive, but mandatory annual inspections is. They would still be unreasonable, a breach of privacy rights, and a sign of the lack of trust in society, even with unlimited police resources. With limited police resources, it's even worse.

So I was checking my gun out and I noticed that for whatever reason I had a magazine loaded with an extra round. It's been like that for months I guess. I don't trust the spring anymore. I'll probably buy a new mag but it seems like a waste to throw away a mag. I'm thinking of either replacing the spring in it or using it as backup with one less round in it in because maybe it will be more reliable loaded like that.

Probably going to pick up a 30 round mag just for fun as well :geek:
