I have looked this over and while you are right, one can own a granade laucher they cant legally posses any of the proper ammo. Those things are illegal. You can have training or smoke ammo but the full explosives are like full auto hand guns.Smitty-48 wrote:Grenade launchers are regulated as "destructive devices" under the NFA, but are not illegal, a grenade launcher can be purchased for about $3000.00, you simply have to pass the background check, register it with the ATF, and pay an additional $200 for the tax stamp.

Re: The Mess
A fair bit. I didn't mean to get into semantics with the viability of drone warfare or exactly what kind of tank you can own. My point is that you simply cannot oppose the US government by force unless you get several million of your buddies rising up and abandoning their families at the same time - along with a substantial portion of the US armed forces. For that to occur, shit would have already hit the fan, spun around, and hit it again.Xenophon wrote:Dismissing my comments with "OMG DRONE" speak doesn't defeat my argument. They are so spread apart that they have no tactical use. Kill a group of dudes, another group of dudes pop up. Drone warfare is not the end of conventional war. When they're used independent of a regular army, they're just a shiny plaything.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Sure, and they'll let you reroute an oil pipeline once in a while. A sufficiently motivated guerilla force with hunting rifles and shotguns would stand a reasonable shot at affecting regime change in the West. The objective wouldn't be to defeat the opposing force in a pitched battle. The objective in such a situation would be to change public opinion to the point when the regular army would refuse to continue hostilities. This would involve more than force of arms (i.e. propaganda) but arms would be an integral part of it.
How much literature have you read regarding guerrilla or unconventional warfare? I'm guessing not much by how glib you're being.
And at that point, the government would be in a no-holds-barred fight to the death. The scale and sophistication of their weapons and intelligence systems dwarf anything that a retarded hick can purchase at Walmart with an unlimited budget. It simply will not be.
Yes, you can imagine a number of little mountain enclaves with a few dozen 'freedom fighters' starving to death while they await the government's surrender, but that's not going to work. The battle is long, LONG over before it begins. Any large group of militants firing on government facilities would instantly be branded as 'homegrown terrorists', plastered across the media, slurred, destroyed in the public eye, and eliminated before it could even begin to affect policy. That's the world we live in.
So purchasing millions of small arms is cute, but does absolutely nothing to change the equation, other than pumping up the budgets of the NRA and gun manufacturers. They're using people's vastly over-inflated ideas of self-importance for profit, and nothing more.

Amazing what comes out when a bunch of black men get some shotguns. GCF goes all Bloomberg and SJW. "Black man are killing each other cause whitey wants his guns. Everyone knows those people cant handle guns." The soft bigotry of a low expectation cowardly bitch.Okeefenokee wrote:This was not my intent.

This is the sort of ad hominem that you use to shoot yourself in the foot. You do the same thing when you talk about religion. Also the reason Trevor Noah has the daily show ratings in the shitter.GrumpyCatFace wrote:The scale and sophistication of their weapons and intelligence systems dwarf anything that a retarded hick can purchase at Walmart with an unlimited budget.
