I used to be a huge Star Wars fan. Expanded Universe and all. I saw Force Awakens, and was disappointed by the recycled plot devices from earlier films and stale original material, not to mention the "Progressive" archetypes. I can't see how anyone can objectively say that these movies aren't trash.

I assume it's all the blinky lights and explosions.

The movies are clearly made for children.

As for the SJW aspect: White women in leadership positions. Evil White males. The only White hero is ethnic-looking Jewish. I didn't care except for the intentional nature of the casting.

Thank you! Star Wars is a series for children. It is stupid. That is fine, because children's movies by nature are quite stupid and lowest common denominator. Even the Pixar ones that are lauded as masterpieces are this way. If people want to watch shitty children's movies and use it as some sort of primitive time machine into their prepubescent years, that is their perogative. But don't bitch about how shitty the new star wars movies are (and they are shitty) but pretend like the old ones were made by Scorsese or Paul Thomas Anderson. These were always lousy movies people. We cannot afford to lose sight of that.
