He wasn't supposed to be a bad ass leader. He was just an engineer commanding Earth's first spacecraft.

Towards the end Bakula got better material and his performance improved accordingly. He just needed some serialized storytelling, then all of a sudden shit got way better, who knew?

Re: Star Trek Discovery
The new Captain is cool, at least so far. Glad they killed off Michelle Yeoh and replaced her with Jason Isaacs, but that shit was a no brainer. Stay dark Discovery, lay off the Voyager bullshit.

It was my impression that they wanted to sell me on him as Indiana Jones.Speaker to Animals wrote:He wasn't supposed to be a bad ass leader. He was just an engineer commanding Earth's first spacecraft.

No. He was just a very smart engineer. He had to figure out warfare as he went along.

Re: Star Trek Discovery
Eventually he got the hang of it. Too bad we missed most of the good stuff because they never got around to Romulan War before they cancelled the show. Fucking CBS faggots.Speaker to Animals wrote:Hwen Hoshino wrote:It was my impression that they wanted to sell me on him as Indiana Jones.Speaker to Animals wrote:He wasn't supposed to be a bad ass leader. Yeah, they had to cancel the one good Star Trek series early.

Re: Star Trek Discovery
Well it only really got good in the fourth season, but to cancel it right when it hit it's stride was so lame, on the flip side, it's kind of a miracle it got that fourth season at all. You could argue that the fourth season of Enterprise might be the best season of Star Trek in the entire series, it's at least top 3.Speaker to Animals wrote:Yeah, they had to cancel the one good Star Trek series early.
Also DS9 is the best Star Trek series, it's not even close.

I don't think the actor has the charisma in him to be a huge lead in that sort of series.Speaker to Animals wrote:Hwen Hoshino wrote:It was my impression that they wanted to sell me on him as Indiana Jones.Speaker to Animals wrote:He wasn't supposed to be a bad ass leader.
