Trump is like a booster shot shot to get the republic's immune system functioning properly. Clinton would have been like a pain drug that keeps it chugging along without actually curing anything.

IMO, the biggest problem with media is that 90% of the media is owned by 3 major corporate conglomerates.
Has very little to do with the average 'reporter'. The talking heads on tv are just inflated actors playing their part and following the policy of the corporations.

Well, if you can't be here on time, at least you got to the right place.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Trump is like a booster shot shot to get the republic's immune system functioning properly. Clinton would have been like a pain drug that keeps it chugging along without actually curing anything.
The entire election cycle we were saying, worst case scenario, Trump is horrible, and triggers a response that results in a balancing of powers.
The role of the court jester is to poke fun at the king, and let the plebs have an outlet for their grief. They are a steam valve. Let off just enough steam so the plebs don't revolt. It makes people feel better, and delays any true reform. It's not a solution, only a treatment. Worst case scenario, Trump is a boiling pot which no steam valve can contain. We might actually get both. Trump already killed TPP. DeVoss might improve education. Mattis and McMaster could greatly improve our adventuring trend. AND congress might get their shit together. Things are looking up.

It's kind of crazy that Trump has caused the Deep State Shadow Government to be revealed in a way that they never have been before. People are starting to openly talk about the Deep State, like Bill Kristol and no one is accussing anyone of tinfoil hatting it, or watching too much Alex Jones. 5 years ago you would have been deemed a little crazy.Okeefenokee wrote:and they're paid by the CIA.C-Mag wrote:Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Early days yet.

“If some official enemy of the United States had a comparable situation—say the owner of the dominant newspaper in Caracas was getting $600 million in secretive contracts from the Maduro government—the Post itself would lead the howling chorus impaling that newspaper and that government for making a mockery of a free press. It is time for the Post to take a dose of its own medicine.”

How in the hell do we stop that. Starve the CIA of funds to do it, audit them, what ?

Seems it might be possible. Maybe just back then, though. I'd be in favor of yanking it, though.
Strong message. I don't think there's anything else that can work. The message has to be clear. The American people reject the deep state. Murder the CIA. Hand them from the lampposts. Whatever replaces them gets reminded, the last time the CIA sought to circumvent the will of the people, it was impaled and left to die.
No half measures.
