DCF Refugee Internment Camp

Not yet. We'll make a trip there soon. With school and work, it's hard to find time to make trips. This past May we took a weekend to drive to Georgia to meet my family. Her family is spread between Roatan, Miami, Utah, and NYC. It's gonna take several trips.

I reckon you've got the order right, maybe even skip NYC and go to the island twice.

Nah, I'd like to see the big city. She tells me the island isn't what it used to be. When she grew up there, the only way onto the island was by air. Ever since the ferry started making cheap trips from Honduras, things have gone downhill.

The outdoors in Utah are something she hypes a lot. I took her to the mountains in Georgia where I grew up, and now it's my turn.



I camped on that island many times. The earliest I can remember, my dad walked across the river with an ice chest on his shoulder and me in a pool floatie tied to his belt. He had a stringer of bream tied to the bank, and when he sent me down to get one, this giant fucking black snake that was there eating them lunged out of the water at me when I pulled in the stringer. I remember him showing me how it kept moving from involuntary nervous activity after it was dead. Good times.

I'll second that Utah hype. I have travelled through it twice and the landscapes were unbelievable. Canyonlands and Arches parks are both awe-inspiring and some of my favorite places I've ever been.

Speaking of snakes, some friends and I went into slot canyons (places to confront claustrophobia and arachnophobia) in Utah and inside of one we found a rattlesnake after 3 of us had already walked past it. The space we were walking through was very narrow and they were within an inch or two of stepping on the snake. Very scary but I guess the snakes aren't as aggressive as I feared.

Thanks, I guess it's a sign of crap TV recently or maybe just a strong desire to get the MHF up and running.
I found a thousand trebuchet memes today so it's not going to slow down soon....



I want to overtake Hash by the winter solstice if I can.
