Loves me some The Bounty, loves me some Master and Commander, The Bounty is better in terms of being an historical documentation, but Jack Aubrey is still a bad mamma jamma none the less.
Alright, I'll check it out.

Smitty is a take-no-prisoners debater, and he's good. If he senses a crack in your armor, he's going to stick the sword in and turn. Half the time he doesn't even subscribe to his own debating positions, he just smells victory.

p.s. It's all about debate as entertainment. If a thread is getting under your skin, quit reading it.
Nah, I'm not daunted by Smitty, he's funny and knowledgable. Others have much less to contribute. I'm just venting and practising my verse.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Master and Commander was a great book and a lousy film. Russell Crow was so wooden they could have used him to patch up a hole in the hull.

No lamp posts on a boat, you'll have to use the yard arm.
Wait, am I Fletcher Christian or Captain Bligh?

We need every man jack on this ship, so there will be no hangings, but those who fail to do their duty, will of course kiss the gunner's daughter, sir.

I could probably report you to the authorities for saying that.

In the long boat with you, I'm off to Tahiti for some native tottie.

That worked out rather better for William Bligh as I recall, one of my all time heroes by the way, right up there with Stonewall Jackson and Curtis LeMay.
