When I saw the announcement, I was filled with a sense of regret. For all the years I lurked, I only posted about 200 times, and never really engaged all the active contributors as much as I would have liked. I'd like to hope I can learn something from that.

I still don't understand how I got to archon. Something about that group just really took to me and then when the election cycle got under way, I briefly blacked out into drunken shit posting mode for days straight. Some of the cringiest things I've ever posted were at smitty but it was no big deal when the sun came up the next day. Now I feel like I've made another friend. I've made a few there tbh. Look, I spent 4 hrs searching for that shit. Google sucks, Yahoo found it using my third variation of - nude, ben bernanke, cash, ass.

One thing I take away from the last couple of hours which may be relevant to today's world is that "memes" were around in 2008. They were used widely by Ron Paul supporters. They had not gone totally mainstream but you can see who the early adapters were and I believe that showed this election cycle.
