Frenchie has a place in France, how cute.
To be fair I didn't choose to have a place in France I just inherited it when my Dad died and my sister and I have chosen not to sell it. It's a nice country to visit and Aquitaine is full of lovely castles. I might even retire there myself eventually. There are huge numbers of British ex pats in that part of the country because it is nice and cheap to buy property. You can buy a huge country house for £100k and the booze is dirt cheap too.
On my favorite curio website Messy Nessy Chic she posted some French country mansions that were like 50% of the price of this fucking townhouse I'm buying right now.

How are prices in Biarritz?
Pretty expensive I should imagine, the glitzy parts of France and the big cities aren't cheap. Same with the Mediterranean coast. It's rural France in the middle of the country which is dirt cheap. Small towns and villages are dying out with shops closing. When Dad moved to the little village there were 3 bars, a shop and a gas station all of which have now closed down.
The French youth want to live in apartments in towns so there are lots of empty houses with large grounds out in the sticks. My place was valued at around 110k euros when the market was at it's height in 2007 but sat unsold for a year at 70k when he died a year later and would probably not sell now unless it was about 50k or less.
An English neighbour who's much larger place with about 6 acres cost her 140k but she had to take a big hit when she wanted to downsize and still took a couple of years to sell.
Decent wine is around 5 euros a bottle and beer is about 50 cents a bottle but food is more expensive than England and hardware is double the price.
Beautiful country with lots of historical places to visit including the largest stone circle complex anywhere in the world.
Outside of Paris the locals are really friendly apart from the Nationalist types who want all foreigners sent home even the white ones.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Who is Monty?

Yeah that's a nice trick, not particularly difficult but using the hat as well is a nice touch.

I guess its a big country and prices vary wildly like anywhere.

So i'm buying one of these and it is $636k

For the same price in Chico, CA where I went to college I could get this

http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/18 ... rect/9_zm/?

60 fucking acres and a 2400 sq ft home

600k would buy you a 20 bedroom château with 50 acres of grounds in the middle of the country.

The 45th president got more than half of Ohio for less than that.
