There shouldn't be any reason not to love French cultural. I mean it's basically all about food, not working, and classy movies. IMO, you can't go wrong. It's a nice country to visit and Aquitaine is full of lovely castles. I might even retire there myself eventually. There are huge numbers of British ex pats in that part of the country because it is nice and cheap to buy property. You can buy a huge country house for £100k and the booze is dirt cheap too.
