From what I guess two or three things happened at once:

1. Money issues and just keeping the lights on and everything working was probably just getting too much for Dan. Also, did anyone know if he had a staff for the boards or was it just him and a bunch of moderators working it?

2. A lot of the users kind of turned on Dan because of his views on Trump and nukedog started posting stuff about Hitler....

3. Dan is probably getting old and also a bit more famous now. So his time is more valuable and dealing with nukedog made him say, 'fuck it, it's done." At least he allowed us to say goodbye and find a new home where we are a probably going to end up in the same place a few years down the line.
