Official MHF Grand Prix thread.

Post by Montegriffo » Wed Jul 21, 2021 11:42 am

OK, I'll dip my toes in to test the waters.
Surely a sports thread isn't going to be controversial enough to get me excommunicated a sixth time.
Martin doesn't even like sports.

Ain't no way you're making the 7 times world champion yield Max.
Know your place cloggy.

Racing is cool. Watching it is not.

the main thing is, Honda has finally closed the gap on Mercedes, it's all about the power units

this is some good racing now, Mercedes has slightly more pace, but it's basically neck n' neck

I'm not sure Mercedes does have more pace.
Red Bull have more wins and more poles so far this season. If not for Max getting taken out he'd be 40 points ahead of Lewis by now.
I'd say neck and neck with Red Bull having slightly more pace.

they seem to have made some upgrades this week, they had more pace all of a sudden

Lewis was all over the Dutchman on the first lap, as if he knew he would be

Mercedes has done some sort of tweak, both Lewis and the Finnish troll looked faster this weekend

it's literally neck n' neck, each team is making changes week to week, this is as close as it gets

I think perhaps the track suited Mercedes better.
It is one of the faster circuits though so you could be right.

Not knowing who has the edge is what makes this season the best in years.

I think it was just Lewis deciding he was going to win the home Grand Prix and nothing was going to stop him

some races are decided by the car, but this race was decided by the driver

this is why I rank this race as one of his best ever, because that was just Lewis taking charge, going for broke

there are races where you don't really see why Lewis is the eight time champion

but this race is one where he made a statement, that was Lewis just hanging it out there

it's like with Leclerc, he looked in his rear view mirror, saw Lewis bearing down on him, and he just panicked

that was a "Senna" like drive by Lewis, which is the highest praise I can give
