I had a few impressive "breakdowns" in my 20s... with a few prolonged hospital stays... all in one year... I think I was 22.
Swanning about in rehab while ol' Smitty was at the battleschool of hard knocks with no tolerance for the weak.

SMH
Not rehab... psychiatry wards...
Plenty of hard knocks there.
Did some combat with orderlies. Psychic combat in various dimensions...
Laid a boot on one psychiatrist who unwisely approached me at the wrong moment.

It was a very strange odyssey of mythological proportions... spanning two continents, three countries and about 5 psych wards.

Hardened me up plenty.

You'd have to be a good shot to hit me from there.

You don't know about honey?

One of the best antiseptics known to man.
I use it every time I cut myself. It helps to stop the bleeding too.
Have you ever seen moldy honey?
It can perfectly preserve Egyptian internal organs for 4000 years.
Soldiers would go into battle with a pouch of honey on their belt to treat any open wounds.
My doctor knew, didn't raise an eyebrow. Complimented me on the state of my wound.

I'll get the sharpening stone out by the end of February then.

StA was telling me about this girl. He's been dating around a bit. Told him to go for it even though he was already kind of dating a girl but it wasn't going anywhere. I talk to him every once and a while to check up or when I want to vent. I'm glad he's doing well. This year seems to have been good to him he's been making concerted efforts to improve himself. Posting too much on a forum can be bad for your self esteem and motivation. It's true, you kind of become a caricature of yourself after a while. Anyway, glad things are working out for some people here. These past couple years have been a shit show for me personally. I think it will turn around soon though.

Never give up. Keep fighting.

Many people come to forums to exorcise their demons. Sometimes it’s tedious and sometimes it’s entertaining, and oft-times it’s therapeutic.

It will. The older you get, the more things just sort themselves out.

You get more comfortable in your own skin, you stop beating yourself up.
