Conservatives banning handguns with the full support of the British population is not a partisan move.
Partisan implies a conflict between two sides. There were no two sides. All sides approved the legislation which passed without serious opposition in Parliament.
You really need to stop judging other nations based on the partisan divisions in the US.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It might not be partisan in Britain, but it's still left-wing extremism, it's just non-partisan left-wing extremism. Agreeing on the extremism, doesn't make it not extreme, having more extremists on different sides makes the UK more extremist, not less.

Why is it left-wing extremism?
If it is approved by all political parties it is neither left-wing nor extremist.
Maybe you need to look up the definition of extremism.
General, all-round support is the opposite of extremism.

General all-around support can be plenty extremist, Hitler had a 89% approval rating.

It's not a "left-wing extremist" position anywhere on the planet besides the US, unless every single government in the world is "left-wing extremist". Preventing the "rabble" from access to personal arms is not, nor has it ever been, a left/right issue.

Yeah, but it was the 11% who were extremists at the time.

Lol, blathering nonsense. The idea that because gun grabbers are leftists in North America, gun grabbing everywhere on the planet is leftist, is confusing one's local reality for a universal one.
