I know. That was what my dad said, his reaction was more like you and your dad's reaction, but I was nine, and even though I deep down knew that was truth, the emotional reaction overrode it for a year or two at least, only age and hindsight snapped me out of it.
Nagano was all Bobby Clarke's fault.

He decided he needed some fourth line NHL tough guys, at the Olympics.

Big ice, international rules, all those guys Clarke picked were dead weight.
Yeah fuck Bobby Clarke as management, he's dead weight. Cost Gretzky a chance at gold, to bring in some fourth line tough guys, sad.
It's like if they picked Matt Martin to play for Canada at the Olympics.

You'd go ballistic, right?

That's how my Da viewed picking Shaybe Corson; fuckin' idiots.

Now I've met Shayne Corson in real life, and he's actually a really cool guy.

None the less, he shouldn't have been picked for Team Canada, for the Olympics.

Jets up 2-0 in Game 5. Thomas takes a four minute high sticking.

If they picked Matt Martin, I might try to assassinate whoever picked them for the Olympic team.

I like Shayne Corson a lot. He really is a good guy if you ever meet him.

He's the kind of guy you want to have a beer with.

But picking him for the Olympics is like picking Matt Martin for the Olympics.

I didn't say anything to his face, he's really proud of being an Olympian.

None the less, Bobby Clarke shit the bed there.

It's not his fault Bobby Clarke picked him, no need to rain on his parade, especially when he's a good guy, like you say.

Exactly, you're not going to bring it up when you're having a beer with him and he's being so down to earth.

None the less, in the back of my mind, I could hear my Da cursing him.

My Da despised him, but he never met the man, Shayne Corson the man is alright, my Da only knew him from afar.

My Da held a grudge from Nagano, but once you meet the guy face to face and he's cool like dat, you can't hold it against him.

Jets blow a 2-0 lead in the third period and now face elimination on the road in Game 6. Home teams cannot win a game in that series, Blues lead 3-2.

Sharks up 3-2 in the final minutes of the third, the longer they drag out that series, the better it is for the Avs, so hopefully the Sharks can hold on here.

Twice in this series the Blues stole a game with no time life.

Puck just bounces right onto their sticks.

Hockey Gods mischief.
