Another piss poor performance by the laziest team in hockey, too much flash, no grit, no grind.

Matthews had a good game though.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Indeed, he's the real deal generational superstar the Leafs have never had.

He is literally the best Leaf of all time, already.

Strategically though, in terms of the structure of the team and style of play : you can't win in the playoffs like this

That little tap back between his own legs and backhand shot deserved to go in. That was awesome.
I still say he should shave the 'tash off though.

Is there any danger that a richer team could poach him off the Leafs? How long is his contract?

Four more years remaining after this year, at $11.6 million per year, then he is a free agent

There are no richer teams, but there are lesser taxed teams with nicer weather, if there is a poaching threat, it will come from there.

That won't be the deciding factor, it will come down to how competitive the Leafs are in four years

If they are legit contender being run well, he will stay, if they turn back into a dumpster fire, he will move on

Maple Leafs Making Room for Pierre Engvall?

Pierre Engvall is making his presence felt on the Toronto Maple Leafs roster. In the 6-4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Jan. 6, he skated a season-high 16:11 and scored a goal and an assist. He now has 12 points in 22 NHL games.

When he first arrived from the Toronto Marlies, he moved between the Maple Leafs lineup and the press box. However, it’s a fair guess he won’t be spending much more time in the press box. In fact, it’s also a fair guess he won’t be wearing a Marlies uniform any time soon.
