Makar tho. Looks like a superstar in the making.

He's way bigger, he's grown a lot since the BCHL.

Makar is a 1RHD methinks, the holy grail.

Girard - Makar looks like the real deal.

Yeah, he's the real deal 1RHD, he's already the Avs best defensemen, superstar in the making, him and Jack Hughes got to be the frontrunners for the Calder next year.

The problem now will be the cap hits for Rantanen and Makar.

The way Matthews and Marner are getting paid, they are setting the market at $11+ million

First world problems. MacKinnon and Landeskog on team friendly contracts for the win.

Way too much for third pairing defensemen, that's for damn sure.

Is there even a team in the NHL team overpaying their third pairing by that much? I doubt it.

Erik Cole is having a pretty good playoffs, but he's still way overpaid for a third pairing guy.

Like Marleau and Zaitsev; they're not terrible, they are serviceable, just way overpaid.

Could be replaced by ELC players for $925,000 each.

Zaitsev wasn't bad for the Leafs, he wasn't the problem, he's just not worth $4.5 million.

Yeah they are still serviceable for sure, and we don't need the $8 million in cap room right this second, but come summer, it's time to look into trading them.
