The House of Bourbon was the Global Hegemon hyper power.

England was subservient to it, until the Glorious Revolution.

There is speculation that Arthur was probably a returning king.

Arthurian is Celtic.

England is Rome > Pope > Charlemagne > Bourbon > Jacobites > Glorious Revolution > Orange > Hanover

Englishmen were the original Europeans

Is there any evidence that there were people in Isles before the Celts? Or were they the oldest peoples to populate that area?

Bear in mind, the Pontifex Maximus is the last surviving office of the Imperium Romanum.

All European Kings were crowned by the ghost of the Roman Empire, through the office of Pope.

Until the English King declared that he was both King and Pope.

We only have Roman history, so all we know is what Rome knew, and they were the people which the Romans encountered when they arrived in their newly minted province to be, Britannia.

Although bear in mind the Celts were on the continent too, in what is now the Iberian Peninsula, but the Romans had already conquered them. The Celts in Britannia were much more wild and fierce, but they were identifiable as Celts
