Venice is pretty spectacular, worth putting up with the crowds and bloody expensive but should be on everyones list of places to see.

That crazy bond villain artist Dale Chihuly did a bunch of crazy art in Venice. He's a glass blower, so he made a bunch of glass spheres and what not and then threw them into the canals and sea. Isn't Venice literally sinking into the ocean though?

It is sinking and sea levels are rising but they are building sea defences.

I guess that's what happens when you make a city on a salt water lagoon by pile driving logs into the marsh and then building heavy stone buildings on top.
