Bye Bye chitty chitty bang bang

http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-gov ... 30626.html

All for moving away from combustion engine transportation, but not sure if there's enough rare metals to supply all the batteries that will be needed.....it is possible that there simply isn't enough on the Earth, and that there is no way to make batteries efficient enough to support a car for all 400,000 of us.

Looks like cars will go back to being for the upper class - suck it proles.

Start buying stock in Tesla.  While you can't deny that is where the market will end up taking the car industry, we should never let the government dictate how fast the market should shift. Its a 100 times more efficient to let true market forces bring upon real change. Honestly I think the car market by in large will be electric by 2040 regardless of what any state or federal government does. All this does is put a bad taste in our mouths and some politician will get credit for and end point that the market was going to get to with or without ink and paper from some asshat politicians.

The democrats want to claim responsibility for the successes of industries. That's all it is. He is trying to estimate a time when most cars will be electric, set a legal deadline for the state, and then let industry continue to develop the technology on their own. Then when the technology rolls out, the democrats can claim they made it happen with their regulations.

It's fucking ridiculous, especially considering the fact that his estimated date might be fucking way off.
