I didn't see anyone taking minutes. It was more of a free-for-all. I invited the most vociferous debaters to join this forum... (That never happens though, I don't know why?)
Because it has your name on it, and that is weird. Honestly.
You mean, like "Dan Carlin Forum."

That was odd too, actually. I went with it because his name is in the podcast title "Dan Carlin's Hardcore History", etc. I knew his name from the podcast long before I knew about the forum. I only happened to find it when I was ordering his old HH episodes.

But if I met the guy in person, no idea who he was, and he told me to go to DanCarlin.com, I'd just smile and walk away.

Joe Rogan Forum
Sean Hannity Forum
Ron Paul Forum

Ok, I'm bored. There's a whole lot more. (I got kicked out of Hannity's forum. Also, Bill O'Reilly's forum. Oh, yeah, and Rush's forum.)

All of whom were quite famous, and putting out national content to be discussed, before creating a forum with their name on it.

I'm not anti-Hash by any means. Just offering an explanation for why peeps don't jump on here.

My name probably helps, it gives credibility. It's VERY VERY difficult to get people to come to any forum. A guy with 3 doctorates who writes a lot, and already has another forum, a company, and a product named after him has a tiny amount of cachet.

p.s. The real question is why ain't I more famous? (Rhetorical question.)

Martin Hash wrote:I was invited to a meeting of the Clark County Libertarians tonight. The guy who invited me is running for a non-partisan office. He's young, enthusiastic & optimistic; good for him. They're almost all Millennials, and we talked politics the whole time, not something that EVER happens at Democratic meetings. It was a good time. I'm not a Libertarian, but frankly, I don't think most of them are either; they're Liberalists like me (and a lot of guys on this forum), but just don't know the ideologies well enough to know what the differences are. They do know they're not socialists or bible-thumpers though.

The guy who invited me, and a couple others, were advocating that Libertarian candidates simply pick which of two existing Parties they most closely match, and run as that, but keep their Libertarian ideology. I assured them that is the best strategy. (From a guy who's never won.)
In general a Libertarian is socially liberal and fiscally conservative.
So yes I consider myself a libertarian with anarchist leanings.

We're not all that far apart. I don't lean anarchist, though. You don't strike me as socially liberal.
