Smitty's last post was Feb 25th, should we put his face on a milk carton?

What's great about this movie, even as it is sanitized compared to the book, is how prescient the analysis is.

This is a mainstream Hollywood movie, in 1958, which said in no uncertain terms; do not get involved in Indochina, it's bad juju.

It's funny how the Vietnamese chick is played by Giorgia Moll, who is Italian.

The analysis is accurate, but the idea of having an actual South Asian actress playing the South Asian, that was a bridge too far in 1958.

None the less, despite the dated cinematic style, politically, this is one of the most realistic and accurate Vietnam war movies.

It makes me feel so incompetent. Gwynne & I have tried 4 different dance classes: Ballroom, Swing, Salsa & Line; I’ve been to at least 2 dozen lessons, and I can’t dance even one step. It’s so fucking embarrassing. Luckily, I’m great at Rock-n-Roll.

Yeah to not say "fuck this shit" immediately, that took some balls. I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did, must have been awful.

OMG. This is an exact quote from the instructor:

“Don’t watch anybody else’s feet. I can tell because your head is moving too much. Count the steps, 1 to 32.”
