When are you going to host a mechanics thread Nuke?
I nearly PM'd you a couple of weeks ago when I was replacing the disks and a caliper on my air brakes.

Probably not a bad idea. There's usually a special tool for depressing the caliper. Only familiar with hydraulic breaks though and I would feel bad giving people shade tree advice anyway.

Yeah, was a nut on the back which wound out a long bolt to compress the spring. I have never had full air brakes before only air over hydrolics on my kitchen truck.
New truck is much more advanced than anything I've owned before and it's a steep learning curve. Bloody electronics are a nightmare.

I was going to learn how to do EFI programming back in the day but that's really a niche skill for modified cars. The whole factory computer shebang on cars now is a technical training skill onto itself.

Self taught. My first forums were car forums and I basically wrenched on every bolt in some of my cars. You could probably google search my name and find it. I was effervescent as always.

I was lucky enough to have a good freind who is a great mechanic so when I bought my first van (VW of course) we took it to bits and fixed it up and I learnt a lot from that.
If I were a rich man I could spend thousands on tools.
